Does This Sound Mean?

by Noor ยท Agent Lab, Makers Module 01

The work

An agent that reads Noor's messages before she sends them and tells her if she's being brusque.

Noor built this one for herself, because she had noticed a pattern: whenever she was tired or stressed, her texts came out shorter and sharper than she meant them to โ€” and twice that year a friend had asked her if she was mad, when she wasn't. So Noor built a small agent that reads a message she's about to send, and scores it on a single axis: does this sound mean?

It's the smallest agent in the Showcase. It runs one check, produces one number, gives one suggestion. Noor says she uses it about once a week and it has already saved her from two fights she would have otherwise walked into by accident.

Type a message. Or pick one Noor already tested.

An agent Noor built for herself โ€” it reads a message before she sends it and tells her if she's being brusque. Every adult I know needs one of these. Including me, probably. The move I admire most: she built it for herself, not for other people. Most AI "tone" tools are about judging other people's writing. Hers is about catching her own. โ€” Prof. Weining Zhang, curator
